Welcome to the blog for Armitage Oral Surgery! Greetings from Dr. Katabi, Dr. Smythe, and their team! We’ve started this blog to help people get more information about their upcoming oral surgery. A few key facts could make all the difference between a nervous patient and a calm one. We hope this blog will be informative, as well as interesting to read. It’s all part of our mission to help provide the best care possible for our patients. Before we talk about everything we can do for you, let’s meet your oral surgeon in Chicago.
Meet Dr. Firas Katabi
Dr. Katabi received his DDS degree in 1998 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He went on to get his specialty training in oral surgery at the Lincoln Medical Center. Dr. Katabi has always been very dedicated to his craft, which is why he is certified by 3 different health boards. He continues to educate himself on the latest technology and techniques so he can continue to improve his care for patients.
Meet Dr. Emily Smythe
Dr. Smythe attended the University of Maryland where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her DDS degree. Award-winning even as a student, she received the Dr. George B. Clendin Award of the International College of Dentists, which is only given to the highest ranked dental student. She received her specialty training at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and continues to publish articles about oral and plastic surgery to help bolster both her and her colleagues’ knowledge.
How We Help
Oral surgery can be an intimidating prospect for many patients. We’re well aware of this, which is why we will take care of you as a person first, not just a medical case. We’ll always listen to your concerns and do everything we can to make sure you are comfortable before and after any procedure.
Here are a few of the services we offer to help our wide variety of patients:
Wisdom Teeth Extractions: Most people need to have their wisdom teeth removed in order to prevent them from crowding their other teeth or becoming infected. We can take care of this for you and make it practically painless, and help you recover quickly.
Dental Implant Placement: Dental implants are the most complete and long-lasting way to restore your missing teeth. The first part of the procedure, the placement, is extremely important to their success, and we’ll always take the time to make sure they are perfectly located so they can help you get your smile back.
Jaw Surgery: Whether your jaw has been injured in an accident or affected by disease, we can help correct a wide array of problems and make it function normally again.
Accelerated Orthodontics: Also known as “Wilcodontics,” this method utilizes oral surgery to significantly speed up and shorten the time needed for orthodontic treatment.
TMJ Therapy: The joints in front of your ears connected to your jaw can become strained and injured just like any other in your body. They require special treatment, and your oral surgeon in 60647 can offer a treatment regimen of medication, lifestyle changes, and physical therapy to help you heal and bring your jaw back into alignment.
This is just a small sample of everything we do at Armitage Oral Surgery. If you think you might need oral surgery in the future, or already have a procedure planned, keep checking with this blog for helpful information.
